Author Biography

H. L. Dowless

H. L. Dowless is an American author, educator, and longtime writer whose work spans fiction, nonfiction, poetry, education, philosophy, and adventure. He has written for more than thirty years and has published books and stories through a variety of publishers, literary journals, and independent presses. His bibliography includes The Grand Army of the Golden Eagle, March of the Divine Magnificent, The Old Mill Pond Anthology, The Analytical Origin of Life on Planet Earth, and The Predator: A Thriller Short.

Dowless has also worked as an academic and international ESL instructor. His experiences in education contributed to several of his instructional publications. Outside writing and teaching, he has pursued outdoor and archaeological interests, including hunting, camping, fishing, trapping, and fieldwork in various locations.

His literary interests range widely, from Southern and outdoor life to history, mythology, philosophy, the supernatural, and the unconventional. His writing reflects a continuing interest in exploring unusual ideas, characters, places, and the boundaries between ordinary life and the fantastic.
